It’s time to explore

Rhodes by van

Rhodes, with its rich history and stunning landscapes, offers a plethora of exciting day trips.
Whether you’re exploring the island itself or venturing beyond its shores, there’s something for everyone.

  • The acropolis of Kamiros overlooking the sea is a must … for those deep into archeology. For the rest is a nice stop
  • The butterfly valley allows a relaxed walk away from the sun under the trees. However, the tourists are disturbing the butterfly reproduction and their number is hence decreasing year by year. We won’t go again and will leave this oasis restricted to kids and butterfly experts
  • Rhodes beaches are not idyllic but there are various beautiful spots and the sea is clean and clear. They are also not too overcrowded
  • In our view the best of Rhodes are their historical cities. The medieval citadel of Rhodes, with its Venetian style, is one of the best in the Mediterranean but …
  • … our favourite place goes to the white city of Lindos, with its narrow streets and the huge fortress that protects the harbour. The fortress was originaly an acropolis built by the Greeks, then converted in a fort by the Byzantines, subsequently conquered by the Knights of the Order of St John before falling in the hands of the Ottoman empire

Let’s dive into some incredible Rhodes day trips:

  1. Discover the History and Culture of Lindos:
    • Lindos, perched on the eastern coast of Rhodes, is a captivating ancient town. Its narrow alleyways wind through white-washed houses adorned with radiant bougainvillaea. Strolling these streets feels like stepping into a postcard.
    • The real gem of Lindos is its Acropolis, sitting high on a cliff. The climb is well worth it, as it offers panoramic views of the shimmering Aegean Sea.
  2. Immerse Yourself in Nature at Butterfly Valley & Seven Springs:
    • Butterfly Valley is a unique sanctuary where thousands of butterflies create a whirlwind of color during their mating season. It’s a magical sight!
    • Nearby, Seven Springs provides cooling waters—a perfect respite from the Mediterranean heat. Take a gentle stroll and discover the hidden tunnel leading to a shimmering lake.
  3. Sail the Turquoise Waters on a Catamaran Cruise:
    • On a hot summer day, there’s no better way to experience Rhodes than from the deck of a catamaran. Embark on a luxury catamaran cruise from Rhodes Town.
    • This immersive tour takes you to the island’s treasured spots, complete with delectable Mediterranean cuisine and exquisite Greek wine.
